Prayer Ministry

Ascension Life is committed to prayer. We have a broad and diverse prayer ministry including:

Prayer Shepherds

Every person that attends ALF regularly has a Prayer Shepherd. Prayer Shepherds pray by name for each member of up to six families in their charge. They contact their sheep regularly to ask for prayer concerns and remind them they are praying for them. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, YOUR FIRST CONTACT SHOULD BE YOUR PRAYER SHEPHERD, THEY ARE YOUR PERSONAL INTERCESSORS. if you do not know who your Prayer Shepherd is, check the list posted at church.

ALF Emergency Prayer Chain

The ALF Emergency Prayer Chain is for members of ALF and their immediate families. If an emergency arises with yourself or a member of your family immediate family (spouse, child, parent, grandchild, brother, sister), please CALL YOUR PRAYER SHEPHERD to ACTIVATE the Emergency Prayer Chain. If you cannot reach your prayer shepherd, call Linda Miller 506-0085 or Mike Elkins 506-0225. When you are in an emergency situation you do not have time to make a lot of phone calls. One of the blessings of being in regular attendance to ALFC is you will only need to make one phone call and can rest assured that your church family is praying for you. (Please let us know updates on the situation as soon as possible.)

Prayer Box (General Intercessory Prayer)

If you have a friend or loved one that is not in immediate crisis, but needs ongoing prayer for salvation, healing, provision, deliverance, emotional healing, etc... please fill out a prayer card in the church and place it in the PRAYER BOX. ALFC intercessors will pray for the concerns on the cards on a regular basis. (Note: Prayer Cards will be removed from the box after one month. If the person needs continued prayer, we request that you fill out the card once each month to ensure we are praying for current needs. If the prayer need is serious enough for us to be covering your loved one in prayer several times a week, it should be serious enough for you to resubmit the concern monthly.) We are blessed to lift your needs to the Lord, but we need to know that you are actively praying and updating us on the progress as well.

Prayer Teams

We have prayer teams that pray at services for healing or will go to hospitals or homes to pray with the sick members upon request. We also offer healing prayer ministry on Monday nights at 7:15-9:00. We offer teaching and training in Prayer ministry at 6:00 pm. If you feel called into the prayer ministry, join us on Monday nights for training and prayer.

Pastoral / Leadership Prayer Shield

Every member of Ascension Life is asked to pray regularly for Darrell, Julie and their family. They also keep the Leadership Team in their prayers. One of the tactics of the enemy is to come against pastors, their families and the leadership of churches that are having an impact for the Kingdom. Through persistent, believing prayer, "no weapon formed against them shall prosper."

Marketplace Intercession for Businesses

Our Marketplace Intercessors have committed to pray for every business that is owned by an ALF member as well as every business that employs members of ALF. We encourage members and businesses to stand on Kingdom principles and we pray for financial protection/blessing. As we draw near to the Lord, He will draw near to us and provide all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
