God's Plan of Salvation
“It is finished” can mean a wonderful beginning for you!
What was Jesus referring to when on the cross He said, “It is finished”? “It” was God’s plan for the redemption and reconciliation of mankind to Himself. You see, God tenderly created you with an incredible plan for your life; a plan for so much more than just existing and then dying. It is a wonderful plan for a fulfilling and rewarding life here on Earth and then eternally in Heaven. God wants you to know that "He LOVES YOU" more than you can ever fully understand. He wants so much to have a vital and exciting relationship with you – not just in Heaven after you die, but right here, right now.
The only way to have this kind of relationship with God the Father is through the Son, Jesus Christ:
Jesus said, “I am the [only] way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the "Father" except through me.” (John 14:6)
No matter how “good” we are, we cannot – of our own efforts – "be good enough" to dismiss our need for Jesus Christ and all He accomplished for us through His death, burial and resurrection. This would be a terrible affront to the Father-Heart of God:
“He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.” (Titus 3:5)
We all have knowingly and willingly done wrong in our lives – this is something that even “good” people must admit. The Bible says, “For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.” (Rom 3:23)
Just as you cannot “good-works” your way into heaven (Eph 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-5, 2 Tim 1:8-9), you don’t "bad works" your way into hell:
He who believes (trusts) in Him (Jesus Christ) is not condemned; but he who "DOES NOT BELIEVE" is condemned already, because he has not believed (trusted) in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)
Please don’t allow yourself to get caught up in the "good works" argument; it's not even the issue. The REAL issue is this... "HAVE YOU PUT YOUR 'TRUST' IN JESUS CHRIST AND THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS?
Jesus was more than a prophet or a good teacher. Jesus was the perfect Son of God, and because of His unfathomable love for mankind, He willingly laid down His life as a sacrifice through a brutal and agonizing death on the Cross. He did this to atone for the sins of the world (1 John 2:1-2), so that we could be reunited and reconciled to God (2 Cor 5:19-21):
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting, eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people's sins against them.” (2 Corinthians 5:19) Praise God! Praise God! Praise God!
No longer is our eternal destiny determined by religious performance and trying to adhere to a list of rules and regulations:
"Therefore by the 'deeds of the law' no flesh will be justified in God's sight" (Rom 3:20)
but rather it is determined by the "free gift" of God's grace through Jesus Christ:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Eph 2:8-9)
Jesus paid the price for your sin and mine by giving His life as a ransom on Calvary's Cross. As a result, all that's left for you to do is TO BELIEVE and ACCEPT the "GIFT of SALVATION" that God is longingly offering you right now!: And according to God's word:
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)
So what do you have to do in order to be saved and to begin this wonderful, exciting, new relationship with Jesus Christ?
Here's the answer..... BELIEVE!
That's right! BELIEVE!
The jailer said to Paul and Silas in Acts 16:30, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said in verse 31: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!"
The word believe simply means.... to trust in, to rely on, and to depend on.
If you want to BE SAVED, and you want to begin experiencing the Abundant Life (Eternal Life) that Jesus came to give you, then all you have to do is.... turn to Jesus - put your trust in Him and His mighty working power - and start "enjoying" your salvation...
The Bible says that "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord WILL BE SAVED'!
Profession of Faith:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I believe that you are the Son of the Living God. I believe that you died on the cross to save me from my sins; and through faith in You, my sins are forgiven. Today, I ask You to come into my life! Live Your life through me! And be... my Lord, my Savior, and my God! Thank You, Jesus, for saving me, and giving me... Eternal Life! Amen! Amen! and Amen!
The Bible says: “As many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them He gave the RIGHT to become children of God, to those who BELIEVE IN HIS NAME.” (John 1:12) Thank you, Jesus!
Note: If you were "serious" about accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you are now "wanting" to follow Him and "serve" Him, THEN YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED ("BORN AGAIN.")
2 Cor 5:17 says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (born again); old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Additional note: As soon as you can, find a "Christian" church that preaches and teaches God's "unconditional" love, mercy, and grace. .
Praise God! You are now a part of the Church of the Redeemed, and your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus!
